Barresi Seems to Want to Buy the Office of State Superintendent

I like to poke around at FollowTheMoney.org quite a bit, and I noticed something kind of startling. In the Oklahoma race for Superintendent of Public Education, Republican Janet Barresi has raised a total of $706,729. While that is a very large sum for that office, what really stands out is the amount of self-financing: $550,000.

That's a half-million just for the primary election. That half-million is not only almost 78% of her own campaign's fundraising, but it is also nearly 4% of the campaign contributions to ALL candidates across the ENTIRE state.
