Proof That Oklahoma Republicans Are No Different

By Brian Altenhofel - Posted on 29 March 2011

Many Oklahoma Republicans campaigned last year on "stopping Obamacare". And as the election results showed, many Oklahoma voters took the bait.

Now Oklahoma Republicans are telling a different story. On March 17, as the deadline to vote on bills in their chamber of origin loomed, the Oklahoma House of Representatives passed HB2130 by a vote of 51-34. To help you better understand the shape of the vote, here's a table of those who voted for it:

Remember, last November Oklahoma voters overwhelmingly supported SQ756. Attorney General Scott Pruitt filed a lawsuit against Obamacare on behalf of the State of Oklahoma. And yet, Governor Mary Fallin accepts federal dollars to begin implementing Obamacare while the majority of Republicans in the House of Representatives vote to begin implementing Obamacare. So much for elected officials representing the wishes of the People of Oklahoma.

The above named Republicans should all be put on notice that this vote will be held against them in November 2012 (except, of course, those who are term limited). They do not represent the interest of most of their constituents, nor are they acting in the best interest of the State of Oklahoma.
